Feelings Story

Start a conversation about emotions by writing a Feeling Story. The aim of the activity is for children to create a short story about something they have been doing with the conclusion being how it made them feel. You can then read the story aloud together and discuss why they feel how they do.

Activity pack includes: Feelings Story & Feelings Storyboard.

TIP: Talking through the story will help children process their feelings and give you the opportunity to give examples of a time you felt the same way and what you did to feel better. It means you can also highlight the worries that children need not burden themselves with, those that can be easily resolved and importantly recognise what makes them feel happier, so they can do more of it.

Suitable for: 5+ years

For younger children, please guide or prompt each section.
